Important changes are coming to the A334/A3051 junction as work progresses on the Botley Bypass scheme. Motorists are advised to be aware of upcoming overnight roadworks and temporary traffic arrangements as the new roundabout prepares to open.

Overnight Roadworks: 28 October – 8 November 2026

From Wednesday 28 October until Sunday 8 November 2026, overnight works will take place at the A334/A3051 junction to prepare for traffic to switch over to the new roundabout layout.

To allow these works to be carried out safely, three-way temporary traffic lights will be in operation during the following hours:

• Dates: Wednesday 28 October – Sunday 8 November 2026
• Times: 8pm – 6am
• Location: A334/A3051 junction, Botley
• Traffic management: Three-way temporary traffic signals

Drivers travelling through the area during these hours should allow additional journey time and follow the temporary traffic signs.

New Roundabout Layout Opening on 8 November

From 6am on Sunday 8 November 2026, traffic currently using the existing mini roundabout will be redirected onto the new main roundabout.

This marks another important stage in the development of the Botley Bypass.

Although the completed scheme will provide two lanes to and from the A3051, the new roundabout will initially operate with a temporary single-lane layout while the remaining construction works are completed.

Motorists should take extra care when approaching the junction and follow the new road markings and signage.
