Curdridge PC has been supportive of this project from the beginning, to create affordable housing to help people with strong connections to the parish to live here. Villagers rated the site the second most popular in the survey conducted in 2011, making it the preferred location out of those actually available. The Council worked with Winchester City Council and Hampshire Homes Hub, and with the landowner, Rob Medway. Once Hastoe were selected as potential developer, they arranged consultations and drop-in sessions in the Reading Room, which were well supported.
