Curdridge Primary School (CPS). Co Opted Governor

CPS is a well-established primary school in the centre of the Village. It has an OFSTED rating of Good and has a fine reputation for its innovative approach to learning and care for its pupils.

The Board of Governors has an important strategic function and is also a statutory requirement. It is comprised of Parent Governors ( those who have children currently at the School), Co Opted Governors ( those appointed by the Board as having the necessary background and skills for the role) plus the Head Teacher and a Staff Governor.

Our role is to enable and ensure that the School’s overarching strategic direction and objectives are achieved through working closely with the School management through holding it to account for its educational and financial performance. There are other statutory obligations that the Board oversees including Safeguarding, Attendance and Health and Safety.

Members of the Board visit the School regularly and also meet 6 times a year. A Governor term is 4 years. The governor role requires a time commitment and a commitment to the well-being of the School, its pupils and staff. More information on the School and the governors can be found on the website.

Due to terms having finished we are looking to add two new Co Opted Governors to the Board. If you feel that you can contribute to the School and the Community in this way please contact me. I shall be delighted to discuss this with you.
