The UK Government has launched an eight-week public consultation on devolution proposals for the Hampshire and Solent region. These proposals include forming a Mayoral Combined County Authority, transferring more powers and funding from Westminster to local councils. This change aims to enhance local decision-making in areas like transport, housing, skills, and economic development.

The consultation is open from 17 February 2025 until 11:59pm on 13 April 2025. Residents are encouraged to participate and provide feedback on these significant changes.
